Who We Are

MAKS Corp. is a non-profit 501c3 organization located in Northwest Indiana that provides personal care and comfort items for local foster children in need. MAKS serves kids throughout Indiana's Region One which includes over twenty counties from our facility in Chesterton, Indiana that is open 24/7 to DCS ensuring our kids in care have what they need on an emergency/immediate basis. We provide everything from clothes and fire extinguishers to car seats and beds. We truly are a one-stop-shop for kids in care. We continue to provide for foster children while they transition to their permanent placements, whether at home or with foster parents. In the end our goal is to help the Department of Child Services (DCS) ensure our foster children have what they need.

Our Mission

MAKS is dedicated to helping local foster children by providing basic care and comfort items while they are displaced from home. We envision an inclusive culture of compassion and partnership in our local communities where we can guarantee basic need items to every child in care regardless of race, gender, or socioeconomic status.

Our Vision

We envision a world where children in foster care are not treated as an afterthought. MAKS is dedicated to creating a permanent space that celebrates, protects, and uplifts our most vulnerable youth—a place where every child feels safe, seen, and cherished.

We envision preventative services becoming standard, enabling more families to stay together. A safe and collaborate space in the community where visitations between siblings can occur.

A place where foster families can come together for educational training and support groups.

As we grow from shared spaces into a permanent home of our own, our building will stand as part of the community representing permanency. A place where children are treated with dignity and respect. Where they can always feel worthy of love, healing, and hope.
